Edit: Lol, so I wrote this draft 10000 years two months ago, and only now am I posting it. Forgive the forever delay, and I hope everyone's doing alright.

Brief update! on... uh... most things. Mostly cosplay, because school is taking up the majority of my time/life right now, and that's not nearly as interesting.

Lol, hi there. I'm never actually on Livejournal any more. I'm on just about every other social networking site... just not this one. XD I went to Zenkaikon back in... March? And I never really got to doing a journal about it, so here's a quick array of photos and a sort-of summary of the shenanigans we got down to.

So... I went to Zenkaikon last weekend and had a ton of fun and very little sleep. I want to post a full update, but it would be really tl;dr, and I'm still busy catching up with school work atm, but I think this sums it up pretty well.

Back from New York Comic Con/New York Anime Festival and I'm exhausted.

Got to meet singing_monk and sleepyjoh! The latter of which was a total surprise, and I didn't even get her phone number or anything, but just wound up recognizing her while waiting in line for the Kuroshitsuji panel.

ANYWAY, more details and loads of picspam in the morning when I can think straight.

When I first started playing Hong Kong, I was just being obnoxiously proud of my hometown. He's definitely grown on me a lot since. He's a prankster and a linefacing deadpan troll, with minimal canon appearances (aka: one panel of him drawing pr0n), but I love him all the same. :T

I'm going to be cosplaying him soon! Hopefully it won't fail miserably. Already got the pants, shoes, socks and fabric together...

Sometimes, I see people playing certain characters, and they talk about how it just comes so naturally to them. And it really shows. They write novel-length replies with minimal difficulty (though, of course, still with effort) and their understanding of the depth of the character really shows through. Nothing seems out of place. They admit to having certain characters they have difficulty with, but they still have those one or two characters whose voices ring true enough to them that playing them in character isn't at all difficult.

When I look at my own muses, I consider one of them, say Kadaj, the most difficult to play, because he's got so many complexes, emotions and turmoil behind this 'brave boy' facade. Granted, that's what makes him so much fun, but it still makes him an understandably difficult character to get right.

But then... I don't think I have a character that I can play without questioning myself and/or their characterization on a regular basis. I feel that I could talk about them at great length (such as in apps), but if I don't watch myself when writing out their logs, I could easily make them out of character. And it's like this with everyone I play.

I feel like a jack of all trades and a master of none. It's very frustrating.
